15. 1993 Magic: The Gathering Alpha Dual Land Underground Sea BGS 9,5 – 36 100 funtów
First, we have a very important part that is used in many tournament decks. The Underground Sea/Land dual mode is a combination of blue and black, players can tap it to get either blue or black mana. This gives it unparalleled gaming value and utility, but is also a great collectible for higher tiers such as BGS 9.5.
T-13. 1993 Magic The Gathering Alpha Mox Esmeralda PSA 10 – 37 200 $
Mox Emerald marks the last member of the Power Nine and the last part of the Mox series on this list. This green mana generating card, one of only five known PSA 10 cards, was recently sold for $37,200 at the PWCC auction.
T-13. 1993 Magic Alpha Ancestors Recall PSA 10 – 37 200 $
According toMagic Week, Ancestral Recall "Allows the player to use one card to draw three more at a very low mana cost. Coming from "grace“cycle, one of each color, gives three things (e.g. mana, life, damage) for the cost of one mana. "Interestingly, this is the only card from the original Power Nine series that has never been reprinted in any way, making it one of the rarest TCG cards you'll ever see.
12. 1993 Magic: The Gathering Alpha Birds of Paradise BGS 9,5 - 37 877 $
Birds of Paradise is another MTG card highly regarded for its playability and visual appeal. Mark Poole represents the living bird pictured above, a card that is key to many deck strategies. What's more, it is the holy grail of many MTG enthusiasts, which fetched $37,877 at an auction in 2019.
11. 1993 Magic: The Gathering Alpha Mox Ruby PSA 10 - $39,600
Here's another Mox loop, Ruby. The only gem on the list to be rated PSA 10 sold for nearly $40,000 in March 2023. Mox Ruby is also part of Power Nine, so it will always be one of the most popular artifact cards in MTG.
10. 1993 Magic: The Gathering Alpha Nightmare BGS 9.5 - $42,877 million
It is a dark and haunting card, which is why it remains very popular with those who revel in the dark aesthetic of MTG. Nightmare is a powerful addition to any deck, but it's unlikely you'll find it as pristine as this deck. The copy of BGS 9.5 pictured above recently closed for just under $43,000, so you might want to go through your childhood folders and try to find this one.
T-8. 1993 Magic: The Gathering Alpha Chaos Orb PSA 10 – 44 400 $

By tossing a Chaos Orb into the air and dropping it onto the play surface, players can destroy any non-token permanent it touches. Affected cards are removed from play, providing a powerful and unpredictable tool for strategic maneuvering. Speaking of TCG, this may not be the first dragon creature that comes to mind. PokemonCharizardy Yu-Gi-Oh!A white dragon with blue eyesBoth are very collectible in their respective franchises, but this Shivan Dragon BGS 9.5 Gem Mint is impressive. At the PWCC auction in November 2022, it was sold for a whopping $44,400.
7. 1993 Magic Alpha Mox Zafiro PSA 9 - 46 800 $
In #7 we have another member of the Power Nine and a very rare piece of the original Alpha set. Mox Sapphire's performance was similar to that of Mox Jet before both were viciously challenged in competition. Many collectors try to combine all three gems, but this is at the expense of the wallet.
T-5. 1993 Magic Alpha Vesubio Doble BGS 9,5 - 63 000 $
The Vesuvan Doppelganger card, drawn by Quinton Hoover, is another rare card from the Alpha 1993 series. On such a card (or any TCG), you need to check the center, face, edges and corners when judging. The fact that this rare deformer achieved a 9.5 rating after 30 years in print is truly amazing, so it's no wonder why it sold for over $60,000.
T-5. 1993 Magic: The Gathering Alpha Time Walk PSA 10 – 63 000 $
Another Power Nine member, Time Walk, gives players an extra turn during a match. Like almost all Power Nines, this high-octane MTG card is banned in most formats. Time Walk has extraordinary graphics and stunning colors, but it is one of only ten PSA 10s ever made.
4. 1993 Magic: The Gathering Alfa Mox Jet BGS 9,5 – 65 100 $
MTG Mox Gems are tool cards in a player's deck, and exactly three of the original Mox cards belong to Power Nine. As such, they provide great in-game power and offer real monetary value to collectors. This Mox Jet is overwhelmingly essential to the game as it adds more mana to the player and provides a gap in the "one land per turn" rule. This card is valuable in conditions like Gem Mint, but is banned in most tournament formats.
3. 1993 Magic: The Gathering Alpha Timetwister PSA 10 – 84 000 $
The flawless design of this Timetwister Alpha card is second to none. Illustrator Mark Tedin has woven an intricate pattern that visually emphasizes the immense power that the Timetwister possesses. The Timetwister is part of the original "Power Nine" limited edition, and many more appear on this list. This gem is one of three existing PSA 10s, one of which recently sold for $84,000.
2. 1993 Magic: The Gathering Alpha Lord of the Pit BGS 10 – 105 000 美元
It is estimated that just over 1,000 of these copies exist, making it one of the rarest MTG cards in existence. Additionally, it received a BGS 10 Pristine rating, one of the most unique ratings of any trading card. The artwork on this card is one of Mark Tedin's finest creations, and the black border makes this card even more visually appealing. It sold for $105,000 at the PWCC auction in January 2023.
1. 1993 Magic: The Gathering Black Lotus Edición limitada Autographed Artist's ID CGC $8.50 - $800,000
Rounding up this list of the most expensive Magic The Gathering cards, we have one of the most iconic TCG cards. There have been several iterations of the Black Lotus, but this artist proof with a white back is probably the rarest on the cake.
This particular Black Lotus is not even from the original Alpha set, but from a later limited edition Beta set. However, it contains a legible handwritten autograph of the illustrator at the bottom of the printout. This particular copy recently sold for $616,000 at Heritage Auctions in March, making it the most expensive MTG card ever sold at public auction.
However, singer and noted MTG collector Post Malone confirmed in a 2022 interview with Howard Stern that he had purchased one at a private auction for $800,000.
