Although Mirrodin is under siege, these prices are still valuable!
With the new addition of Phyrexiansbecome oneJust around the corner, Magic's most tenacious villain is attracting a lot of attention. They performed their old tricks one last time on Mirrodin's plane, where they eventually beat the plane in an on-set fight.the siege of Mirrodin.completeMirrodin's scarsblock has some very spicy cards added to the card pool andthe siege of MirrodinNo exception: MBS has some real explosives. After more than 10 years, let's take a look at the most expensive of them all!
10. Black Sun Zenith
Commander 2014 | queer
/94298.jpg)
A good sweeper will always come in handy, and Black Sun Zenith is inefficient and the likeCursewhich makes up for it in other ways. In EDH, -1/-1 decks are very popular, certainly not as popular as +1/+1, but Harpacha, Poison Chancellor, and Scorpion God still work there. You must have a very, very good reason not to put Zenith Black Sun on any of these lists. Think about the cards you draw and the 1/1 snake you create!
9. Tezzeret, the ball agent
The Siege of Mirrodin | Mythical
I will always have a soft spot for Tezzeret the Ball Agent as he was the first roamer I ever had (I remember when I found out you made a 5/5 even after the turn ended, I was shocked when the creature was still a creature, too bad). As for the price, it seems to be entering its twilight - the price has skyrocketed.Shadows over InnistradSeeing it over $40, even its $6 price doesn't seem sustainable, with a clear downward trend over the last year or two. Still, it's a useful addition to artifact-based EDH decks, turning all fake treasure tokens into 5/5 (wait, who knows?).
8. Dark Iron Plate Armour
Double Champions 2022|Rare
/276925.jpg)
Market Price: $8.93
Invulnerability as a skill is highly valued among commanders. With the overwhelming popularity of board cleaners that reset uncontrollable board states, cards like Dark Steel Armor have become a coveted way to mitigate the damage of massive removal spells. On the surface, this seems like a fairly innocuous card, but if you're playing a deck that relies on fairly fragile creatures, Darksteel Plate is a great way to clean up and clear points. Keep critical threats at bay. As long as the sweeper isn't Black Sun Zenith, it is!
7. Green Sun Peak
Double Champions 2022|Rare
Market Price: $9.11
Zenith Green Sun is one of the few cards that requires you to shuffle your deck twice in resolution and is by far the best card in the Zenith cycle. This is reflected in the fact that, along with Dryad Arbor, when banned in Modern, it was a one mana boomerang, not to mention the extreme efficiency it offered in training any number of Toolbox creatures as the situation demanded. Green Sun Zenith is one of my favorite cards to deal with in EDH, but from Wood Elf (we're shuffling down to three now) tohoofI happily reprinted several times to make sure the card was still relatively affordable at $7. Depending on the power level, it could be worse.
6. Blade heroes
Commander: Machine March | Myth
/491349.jpg)
It's always fun to check the threat power level in 2WW space. we moved fromElspeth, caballero andantecomeitinerant emperorFor a while, Swordsman was one of the most respected four mana white threats. I think it's this price memory that holds its cards even today: about a year ago there was a big price spike when the announcement of Isshin, Two Heavens as One was released. Heroes are… well, obviously a serious threat great for Yi Xin, great for a commander like that.Elesh Norn, Great FriarAnd Adeline, the brilliant Katri. I don't think it's supposed to be a $13 card, and I doubt even a single reprint would completely reduce its price.
5. Pyrexian Crusaders
Siege of Mirrodin|Rare
/39034.jpg)
Market price: $17.69
Phyrexian Crusader is one of the main plague hazards, automatically included in every EDH deck, focusing on the plague mechanic that can use it (Skithiryx, the dried dragon,Atraxa, Voice of the Archons) and a great place to put gear or auras when you go in there. Infect Plus Initiative is a killer combo as you can reduce large blockers before they can do any damage, and while it's "only" 2/2, this card is a lot harder to hit than you might think. Plus, it has the best creature type ever seen, and no, I'm not talking about "zombie."
4. Dedicated Sphinx
Dual Champions 2022|Mythology
Market price: $19.19
If you asked me to guess the order of the most expensive cards in the worldthe siege of Mirrodin, I would not hesitate to put the dedication of the Sphinx in second place. Such is the memory power of the price: For me, the Consecrated Sphinx "should" be a $40 card, I was surprised to learn that it was actually half that. This card is so powerful that it is a deadly threat on the Command table - if you don't kill it quickly, in one turn, the game is forfeit. However, despite its popularity and power level, it makes sense that the Dedicated Sphinx has cut its price in half in recent years, as it has been reprinted numerous times and therefore supply exceeds demand.
3. The center of the black moth
Siege of Mirrodin|Rare
Market price: $36.46
Inkmoth Nexus is arguably the best Infested card ever, and not just in Infested decks: it appeared in Time of Hammer, Hardened Scales, and before Mox Opal was banned in Modern, which also led to the end of Affinity. best threats. The Inkmoth Nexus kills everywhere and is immune to magic speed loss as it hides in your lands and reappears at the right time. Charge the Nexus with bomb spells or +1/+1 timers and kill enemies in one hit before the Nexus returns and lurks safely in your manabase. The card is still widely used in Modern and Legacy, and its price reflects that.
2. Sword of Desolation
Dual Champions | Mythology
Market price: $36.03
Possibly the best sword of all, the Feast and Famine Sword is all the rage in HRE games. Bind an evasive creature with it and you effectively double your mana each turn, as well as the extra Raven Crimes that come with it. Thoughsword of fire and iceOften favored in competitive 60-card builds, you can't beat Swords of Feast and Famine in EDH. Its mana double effect is enough to make this sword the most expensive, and for $50 it has every right to be the most expensive card in the world.the siege of Mirrodin, If not...
1. A dried steel colossus
Dual Champions | Mythology
Market price: $30.25
The best colorless non-Eldrazi threat, the best artifact threat, the dry steel colossus has the scariest final card ever. Tinker's favorite target in Vintage, Blightsteel Colossus also finds new life in EDH, playing as Satoru Umezawa, who can trick him with ninjutsu like never before. I was a bit surprised to find it for around $60 as it doesn't have that much gameplay compared to Sword of Feast and Sword of Famine, but I think the whole one-hit win situation would be enhanced by its powerful and unique price tag.
